There are venues that simply understand romance, and then there is The Cloisters, Sorrento. Perched above the Gulf of Naples on Italy's breathtaking Amalfi Coast, this is a setting that offers something rarer than beauty alone: a sense of total cinematic theatre. The warm terracotta light, the scent of lemon groves carried on a sea breeze, the ancient stillness of the cloistered courtyard softened by candlelight and laughter. I have photographed here, and every time I arrive I feel that particular charge in the air that only the very best venues produce. This is Sorrento at its most romantic, most iconic, and most quietly spectacular.

Natalie Hamilton is a UK-based destination wedding photographer specialising in fine-art and editorial coverage of weddings at The Cloisters and across the Amalfi Coast, featured in Vogue and Vanity Fair.
It is a medieval cloister courtyard with stone arched colonnades and an open sky above, sheltered yet grand, with dappled light and deep-blue summer skies that photograph beautifully in both colour and black and white.
Peak-season Amalfi Coast dates book up 12-18 months ahead; enquire early to secure your date.
I take a small number of destination weddings each year, wherever you say "I do." I'd love to hear about your day.
